Course Overview

A course suitable for anyone who fits diamond blades or abrasive wheels to work equipment, or uses work equipment fitted with these items should take this course to comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, and the Health & Safety at Works Act 1974.

Course content:
Employer’s and Employee’s legal responsibilities
Methods of manufacturing diamond blades
Wet and dry cutting
Considerations for fitting of diamond blades
Recommended speeds
Diamond blade problem troubleshooting
Hazards arising from use
Methods of marking abrasive wheels
Methods of storage, handling and transportation
Testing and inspection
Methods of mounting abrasive wheels
Dressing abrasive wheels
Abrasive compounds used in manufacture
Accident statistics

Candidates will complete practical training and complete a short written test. They will receive a hand out summarising the topics covered and successful candidates will receive a certificate. £140.00 plus VAT per person for this six hour course.
